uNmINeD 0.19.58-dev โ€“ Modded worlds

New uNmINeD development snapshot is available for download!

Changes:

  • (Minecraft) Reworked datapack and mod handling
  • (Minecraft) Textures now can be used with Bedrock worlds (experimental)
  • (Minecraft) Colors for custom/modded blocks now can be calculated automatically from textures
  • (CLI) Textures now can be used with the CLI

Automatic colors for custom blocks

uNmINeD now can read biome and block metadata from datapacks/mods and behavior/resource packs, and it calculates map colors for custom blocks automatically by averaging their textures instead of displaying them as pink.

Textured rendering

By default, uNmINeD displays each block as a square filled with a single color. When textured rendering is enabled, it still does not render blocks in 3D, instead it fills the squares with an image (the in-game texture of a block) rather than a solid color.

Textured rendering can be enabled on the render settings side panel (the tab with a cog wheel icon). It works for zoom-in levels 4:1 or higher. It works well with cube-like blocks, but fences, walls and other blocks with a complex 3D model look off. Upcoming releases will be able to render fences and walls correctly, and images to be used for complex blocks will be customizable.

Usage with Java Edition

Using textures or datapacks/mods with Java Edition worlds requires a Minecraft client JAR file. If you have Minecraft installed, uNmINeD will automatically find your client JAR file, otherwise you have to copy it from another machine, and select it in uNmINeDโ€™s app settings.

Usage with Bedrock Edition

Using textures or behavior packs with Bedrock Edition worlds requires a vanilla resource pack. You can download it from Mojang: https://github.com/Mojang/bedrock-samples/releases. Find your version (or use the latest), click on Assets, and download the full package named bedrock-samples-xxxxx-full.zip (or the source code zip package, either one is good), then select the downloaded file in uNmINeDโ€™s app settings.

CLI usage

Use --java-client-jar=/path/to/1.21.11.jar to select your Minecraft client JAR.

Use --bedrock-vanilla-pack=/path/to/bedrock-samples-v1.26.0.2-full.zip to select your vanilla resource pack.

Use --textures=true for textured rendering (effective at zoom-in levels 4:1 or higher).

Selecting a client JAR or a vanilla resource pack is required for all datapack related functions, including automatic color calculation for custom blocks and textured rendering.

OpenSubtitles download error 406

Subtitle downloads from OpenSubtitles may fail depending on time of day. This is due to our daily download quota being exceeded. Current amount of donations is barely enough to pay for the existing quota. So it is unlikely that quota can be increased and situation will get worse over time.
If you create an OpenSubtitles account and configure it in MPC-HC settings then you may be able to bypass the quota.

Overview of features

A lot of people seem to be unaware of some of the awesome features that have been added to MPC-HC in the past years. Here is a list of useful options and features that everyone should know about:

  • Play HDR video
This requires using either MPC Video Renderer (MPCVR) or madVR.
These renderers can be selected here:
    Options > Playback > Output
With other video renderers, the colors will be wrong!
MPCVR is now included and is the recommended renderer for modern systems. MadVR needs to be installed separately. MPCVR also supports Dolby Vision. MadVR does not.
For optimal performance you should change the hardware decoder to D3D11 in LAV Video Decoder settings when using MPCVR on Windows 10/11, because this renderer uses DirectX11.
  • The installer of MPC-HC is very basic (and that will not change).
I therefore recommend using K-Lite Codec Pack. That includes MPC-HC and other essential components. It has a very advanced installation that can automatically create file associations, and helps you with easy configuration of important MPC-HC settings.
The Standard version should be sufficient for most people. Use Full version of you like to use MadVR.
  • Modern GUI Theme (Dark or Light)
Options > Player > User Interface
It is also possible to change the height of the seekbar and size of the toolbar buttons.
  • Video preview on the seekbar
Options > Player > User Interface > Hover type
  • Ability to search for subtitles
    Press D for manual search.
Or enable automatic search in: Options > Subtitles > Misc
  • Adjust playback speed
Menu > Play > Playback rate
The buttons in the player that control playback rate take a 2x step by default. This can be customized to smaller values (like 10%):
Options > Playback > Speed step
Adjusting playback speed works best with the internal audio renderer. This also has automatic pitch correction.
Options > Playback > Output > Audio Renderer
  • MPC-HC can remember playback position, so you can resume from that point later
    Options > Player > History
  • You can quickly seek through a video with Ctrl + Mouse Scrollwheel.
  • You can jump to next/previous file in a folder by pressing PageUp/PageDown.
  • You can perform automatic actions at end of file. For example to go to next file or close player.
Options > Playback > After Playback (permanent setting)
Menu > Play > After Playback (for current file only)
  • A-B repeat
You can loop a segment of a video. Press [ and ] to set start and stop markers.
  • You can rotate/flip/mirror/stretch/zoom the video
    Menu > View > Pan&Scan
This is also easily done with hotkeys (see below).
  • There are lots of keyboard hotkeys and mouse actions to control the player. They can be customized as well.
    Options > Player > Keys
Tip: there is a search box above the table.
  • You can stream videos directly from Youtube and many other video websites
Put yt-dlp.exe in the MPC-HC installation folder.
Then you can open website URLs in the player: Menu > File > Open File/URL
You can even download those videos: Menu > File > Save a copy
Tip: to be able to download in best quality with yt-dlp, it is recommended to also put ffmpeg.exe in the MPC-HC folder.
Several YDL configuration options are found here: Options > Advanced
This includes an option to specify the location of yt-dlp.exe in case you don't want to put it in MPC-HC folder.
Note 1: You also need to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)
Note 2: yt-dlp nightly build (very latest version made daily)
    Note 3: yt-dlp win7 compatible build
  • Besides all these (new) features, there have also been many bugfixes and internal improvements in the player in the past years that give better performance and stability. It also has updated internal codecs. Support was added for CUE sheets, WebVTT subtitles, etc.

Counter-Strike 2 Update

[ GAMEPLAY ]
  • Reloading has been refactored to encourage more careful consideration of the use of ammo. When you reload a magazine-fed weapon, all remaining ammo in the magazine is discarded and a new, full magazine is taken from the reserves.
  • Reserve ammunition is now represented either as number of magazines, shells, or bullets, depending on the weapon.
  • The fill-level of the current weapon is now displayed below the ammo count.
  • Tuned reserve magazine counts per-weapon.
[ MAP GUIDES ]
  • Limited map guides are now available in Competitive and Retakes (first 5 rounds of the half, 30 node max).
  • sv_allow_annotations_access_level supports 3 values: 0 โ€“ disabled. 1 โ€“ limited view. 2 โ€“ full and editable.
  • sv_annotation_limits_max_rounds_per_half (default 5) determines how many rounds into the half guides are allowed. -1 for unlimited.

OpenWrt 24.10 end of life

With the release of OpenWrt 25.12 stable series, the OpenWrt 24.10 stable series will go end of life in 6 months. We will not provide security updates for OpenWrt 24.10 after September 2026. We encourage everyone to upgrade to OpenWrt 25.12 before September 2026.

Upgrading to 24.10

Sysupgrade can be used to upgrade a device from 23.05 to 24.10, and configuration will be preserved in most cases.

For for upgrades inside the OpenWrt 24.10 stable series for example from a OpenWrt 24.10 release candidate Attended Sysupgrade is supported in addition which allows preserving the installed packages too.

  • Sysupgrade from 22.03 to 24.10 is not officially supported.

  • There is no configuration migration path for users of the ipq806x target for Qualcomm Atheros IPQ806X SoCs because it switched to DSA. You have to upgrade without saving the configuration.
''Image version mismatch. image 1.1 device 1.0 Please wipe config during upgrade (force required) or reinstall. Config cannot be migrated from swconfig to DSA Image check failed''

  • User of the Linksys E8450 aka. Belkin RT3200 running OpenWrt 23.05 or earlier will need to run installer version v1.1.3 or later in order to reorganize the UBI layout for the 24.10 release. A detailed description is in the OpenWrt wiki. Updating without using the installer will break the device. Sysupgrade will show a warning before doing an incompatible upgrade.

  • Users of the Xiaomi AX3200 aka. Redmi AX6S running OpenWrt 23.05 or earlier have to follow a special upgrade procedure described in the wiki. This will increase the flash memory available for OpenWrt. Updating without following the guide in the wiki break the device. Sysupgrade will show a warning before doing an incompatible upgrade.

  • Users of Zyxel GS1900 series switches running OpenWrt 23.05 or earlier have to perform a new factory install with the initramfs image due to a changed partition layout. Sysupgrade will show a warning before doing an incompatible upgrade and is not possible. After upgrading, the config file /etc/config/system should not be restored from a backup, as this will overwrite the new compat_version value.

Known issues

  • LEDs for Airoha AN8855 are not yet supported. Devices like the Xiaomi AX3000T with an Airoha switch will have their switch LEDs powered off. This issue will be addressed in an upcoming OpenWrt SNAPSHOT and the OpenWrt 24.10 minor release.
  • 5GHz WiFi is non-functional on certain devices with ath10k chipsets. Affected models include the Phicomm K2T, TP-Link Archer C60 v3 and possibly others. For details, see issue #14541.

  • Sysupgrade from 23.05 or earlier to 25.12 is not officially supported.

  • Cron log level was fixed in busybox. system.@system[0].cronloglevel should be set to 7 for normal logging. 7 is the default now. If this option is not set, the default is used and no manual action is needed. fc0c518

  • Bananapi BPI-R4: Interface eth1 was renamed to sfp-lan or lan4, and interface eth2 was renamed to sfp-wan to match the labels. You have to upgrade without saving the configuration. cd8dcfe

  • TP-Link RE355 v1, RE450 v1 and RE450 v2: The partition layout and block size changed in this release to fix configuration loss on sysupgrade. Users upgrading from OpenWrt 25.12.0 or earlier must use sysupgrade -F to force the upgrade. The image must not exceed 5.875 MB (6016 KiB).

Known issues

  • Zyxel EX5601-T0: the WAN interface was renamed from eth1 to wan โ€” check and update your network configuration after upgrading.
